I have a ppc8600/200. I have upgraded ram to 192mb, installled usb/firewire via pci, and have been able to run and have upgraded to OS10.1.5.0. I have purchased a Darwin CD from bsdmall but I can not install it on a partition I have previously used to run Linux. Is this the problem I am encourting or do I need to competely re- initialized my external drive to install Darwin? |

I have tried Darwin 1.5.1 on a burned cd and can get to the install on a 7600 but have problems on the reboot. I have a small hard drive set up for Mac OS 9.1 and a 18 GB hard drive for install of Darwin. I simply reboot onto the cd and follow the instructions. Everything seems to work on the install but at the end I select to reboot and it seems I have acouple of files missing and it fails. I don't know if these problems are related to XPostFacto. Tonight I plan on burning a copy of the Darwin 6.01 and then trying to install it. I will post if I have any problems. |

I have Darwin 1.5.1 on order which is the "10.2" point equivalent I think, which I want to install on 7300 (G3/400). If you get this working, I'd be glad to hear how. Gregory |

What exactly happens when you try to install? I haven't tested XPostFacto lately with Darwin Install CD's, and I'm not sure exactly what the bsdmall CD looks like, so it is possible that there is some glitch involved that I could fix. Reformatting might help, depending on exactly what the problem is. |
