8600/200 with Sonnet G3 card, 496 meg ram, 30 gig drive (bootable to X) and 18 gig drive (bootable to 9). On startup, I get the new apple logo, then the spinning cursor below it, then the broken system symbol (circle with slash through it). Using XPostFacto 2.2.2. Any ideas? Thanks! |

This happened after I finished the install of 10.2. I reinstalled bootx and the kernel extensions and resolved the problem. Classic also would not start after the 10.2.1 update. The above procedure worked to resolve that too. |

Try booting in verbose mode (with command-v held down). That should get you an error message of some kind, rather than just the broken system icon. It may be worth checking the "Reinstall BootX" and "Reinstall Extensions" options in the "Advanced" menu of XPostFacto, just in case that helps. |
