I've got a 7300 wih a Newertech 300MH G3 card. 1 meg cache and 410 megs ram. When I start Classsic it crashes with the following error: "Maxpower G3 extensions bus error" I try to start Classic with extensions off and it starts but then "disappears" Any suggestions? |

Yes, open the System Folder from which Classic launches, and remove any reference to G3/G4 or "Altivec Enabler" extensions that you find there. It's best to run a stripped down version of your Classic system as all the functionality such as networking and hardware support is provided by OS X. I think you can use Extensions Manager to create two startup sets, one for regular use and one for Classic. Check www.macosxhints.com and search for articles on optimizing classic. |

You're right. I never realized it was transparent to the user. How about the problem wih the system error. I have to start Classic without the G3 upgrade card extensions. Any fix for that? Thanks, again |

Isn't "disappearing" perfectly normal behaviour? Try launching a classic app. |
