Hi, Last week I posted a message regarding my problems trying to install 10.2 on a rev A beige G3... I was able to install and use 10 - 10.1.5 with out a problem and with out XPF. When I install 10.2, I get a KP on start up. That is why I tried XPF. The problem is I cannot get XPF to restart to the CD (it always goes back to 9). No luck fixing that. On the other hand, I was able to get the error I was having when starting 10.2 (The problem, until now, was that when I got the KP on start up, I would get a bunch of grey lines accross the monitor that prevented me from seeing the error correctly). The com.apple.driver.AppleGossamerPE cannot find com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily. Sure enough, com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily does not get installed. It IS listed as a dependancy on com.apple.driver.AppleGossamerPE's info.plist. Any one have any ideas? |

It sounds as though BootX is having trouble loading the Extensions.mkext file from the CD. How large is it on your CD? (It is at this path: /System/Library/Extensions.mkext Or is this happening after the install is finished and the machine reboots again? |

Actually, that is still a problem for me... I cannot actually get XPF to work. It always reboots back into classic. |

There were some bugs with XPF V2.2.3 related to loading of kernel extensions at boot. Try downloading 2.2.4 and using the "Reinstall Extensions " and "Reinstall BootX" options and rebooting. |
