Does anyone know whre I can get drives to get my yamaha 4-2-6 to work with iTunes 2 or 3. I can cut ordinary discs but not sound. Currently I run 10.1.5 and was not planing to go to 10.2 as I think my CD will stop altogether then. |

Thank you for the HexEdit tip. I editied the file and iTunes cut a CD with no problems at all. Who know's I might risk upgrading to 10.2 |

Cool! I did not know that was possible... For what it's worth, I upgraded an Apple SCSI external 300e CD case with a Yamaha 8/4/24 burner and it works just peachy in all modes. It's not even a Mac-specific model since I cheaped out and bought the PC version knowing that I wouldn't be able to boot from it... So it doesn't boot OS9, but I can still use it to install OSX! |

The other thing you can do is use Hexedit, available from versiontracker, to edit the device plugin file for yamaha burners. I did this for my Toshiba CD-RW/DVD before 10.2.2 began supporting it natively. It turned out to be relatively simple to do. You search for Yamaha and then either change the entry to your model or create a new entry for your model drive. |

I tried the xlr8yourmac.com database as was the reply in my earlier post on the same subject. Hope yours goes better. If you do have some luck, post your findings. --Dwight |
