Ok, I went and copied down exactly what it says: (I am ignoring the blah(): preface to each line) extension: "com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily" cannot be found dependency com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily of com.apple.driver.ApplePowerSurgePE is not compatible or is unavailable cannot set dependencies for kernel extension com.apple.driver.ApplePowerSurgePE (paraphrasing) a driver for the platform cannot be found "APPL,9500" This is with the latest XPostFacto on a 9600/200 with XLR8 G3, loading the Install CD off the internal SCSI bus and the install onto disk on an ATA 100 card from Sonnet (not the latest firmware that screwed things up) This machine was booting 10.1.5 fine This happens when trying to boot the 10.2 CD to do the install. This is before the install actually happens. thanks Chad |

Hi I am having the same problem. I have a 9600/XLR3- 450/500/SonnetATA100. It was running 10.1.5 fine. I downloaded the latest XPostfacto 2.2.3. I plugged my OS 9 disk back into the internal SCSI bus, booted OS 9, ran XPostFacto, chose the install CD and my current OS X disk for the boot and install onto options, and told it to go. It rebooted and gave me the "AAPL,9500" cannot find driver message. Above it is some sort of IOPCIFamily driver error. I don't have it in front of me at the moment to exactly copy the whole thing down. I have tried several times including reinstalling extensions, reinstalling bootx, installing extensions, etc. I have it set to boot verbose. Any ideas? To summarize: this is the current and latest XPostFacto, and this is a 10.2 install attempt. The CD is on the internal SCSI. The install onto disk is on a Sonnet ATA100, not the latest firmware. Thanks Chad |

Where is it failing? On booting the 10.2 CD? After you have installed 10.2 from the cd and are rebooting from the HD? Usually this problem indicates that the Xpostfacto extensions need to be reinstalled. Britney |
