Well, I wrote the last message late at night and now realize it sounded bad. I apologize if it offended anyone. I have a stock Powerwave 120 with the following... Baracudda 4 MB STD15150N 128MB Ram(Tried interleaved A1,B1 and Now Noninterleaved A1 A2, others) ATI xCLAIM model 88800GX Video card (Upgraded firmware) XLR8 Carrier Zif with G3 333 Mhz upgrade (SpeedControl 2.6.1) Apple branded CD Matshita CR 8012 VST Ultratek ATA 66 Card with software upgraded for OS X 2 60 GB Western Digital drives hooked... The messages I'm getting seem to indicate something wrong with the SCSI bus. "Can't find super class for 19curioSCSIcard... Can't get dependences for Kernal extoldworld.support.patchedscsidevicetype05 Finally Exit Code 133 Or... We're hanging here I noticed the SCSI cable is very long so I've tried moving the drives (SCSI CD and HD) to different points along the chain, making sure termination is properly maintained. I have 5 other Mac's in the house, is it possible the use Carbon copy cloner the install on the disk and then install the proper extentions? I just want the faster TCP/IP of Unix so that I may use this machine for MP3 sever for iTunes, and NoW up-to-date server. I've spent a lot of time reading this forum before posting my problems. If anyone can help I, and my entire family øf mac users, truely thank you Thanks... |

That sounds like a kernel panic that isn't getting displayed properly. Holding down command-v at boot-time should at least get you a readable error message. |

Great Idea, I'll run a hardware test. I hadn't seen goo before. Digital Goo defined: An opaque white band about 4 inches thick in the middle of "this 19" monitor" with an image shift of approx. 30 degrees and random dashes covering about 20 % of the gooed area. |

You should reinstall bootx too.... Still seems like there might be something wacked with your box. booting with command V held down or turning on verbose mode from Xpostfacto will give you more info about where the hangup it. Marty I wonder what digital goo looks like? |

Oh Well, I got the Grey apple and the spinning Dashes but the middle of the screen gave me a band of digital goo. The soft off switch will no longer turn off the machine. That usually mean battery removal for mother board rest. I wonder if this 19" supermac screen could be the problem? I changed the Res to the more standard 1024x768, It requires a hardware adaptor. I just did a install extentions under File. Do I need the advanced menus "install boot X"? Anyway, I think I'll look into Appleshare IP, (a 100 base T card is on the way) and keep this thing in OS 9 for now. I'll check in from time to time and maybe try again after version 3 is released. For now I'm excited about 10.2.3. Thanks for your advice marty. Don |

OK herr it goes... I've downloaded the lastest version of CCC. Thanks for the heads up. I haven't used it since 10.1, and they had a newer version. I paid them. What a great program! I'm also installing the latest version of the ultratek card . If this works, I'll pay OWC as well. Since the initial boot will be from the ultratek card, I'll disconnect all the other SCSI devices on the power wave. I'll post the results later this afternoon. I need to hurry, my wife is starting to miss me ;-) |

That should work, assuming the SCSI drive is formatted with proper drivers (ie Drive Setup) and terminated correctly... Dont forget to add the xpostfacto extensions before booting to it... Also I must say I did not like the way the Ultratek card worked for me, it was kind of flakey and I ditched it in favor of UW SCSI and the Acard Ahard 66... I am using the Adaptec 29160N in my powerwave as the boot and data drive, with a SCSI dvd connected to the internal fast bus. I have used CCC before to move bootable systems around. Make sure you use the right version of CCC (they differ depending on the OSX version). I'll think positive thoughts for you. Marty |

Thanks for the response Marty. So I'll to try this tomorrow. 1. Remove One of the 60 gig jobs from the Powerwave Ultratek card. 2. Put it in a firewire enclosure and install a fresh copy of 10.2 from one of the iMacs 3. Reinstall it in the powerwave and attach it to the Ultratek card and install extentions from Xpostfacto. 4. Boot into OS X by selecting the boot drive from Xpostfacto. 5. If all goes well I'll CCC it to the 4GB Seagate. If this is a crazy idea someone please say so. I'll Leave the XLR8 card installed Thanks, Don |

"I have 5 other Mac's in the house, is it possible the use Carbon copy cloner the install on the disk and then install the proper extentions? Yes. You cannot run 10.2 on the original 604 120 in case you are unaware of that. I use a Powerwave as my primary workstation, so it is very workable. Marty |
