Startup stalls at blue screen |

I've been running 10.1.x on a 9500 for months and months now. Very stable and reliable. Booting into OS X via Xpostfacto (2.2.4) in verbose mode it runs through everything and stalls at the blue screen just before start up is normally finished. Haven't installed any new hard or software recently. Any ideas on what I did wrong? Thanks for the advice in advance. |

I have been having this same issue, and have recently tried using the XOptimize utility available at MacFixit. I am starting to use it after each new software application install, and it seems to have lessened my troubles with the blue blank, though not completely curing them. tpmco I am using a 7600/g3/360 xlr8 with the OS X drive external, ixMicro Ultimate Rez video, xlr8 USB card, and a hodgepodge of ram totalling 240 mb, 21" NEC multisync E1100 @1152 resolution, XPF 2.25b, 9.2.2, OS X 10.2.3. |

One other thing you could try is deleting monitor-related preferences. Such as /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist |

I tried that suggestion but to no avail. Still stalling at blue screen. No errors in log in booting in verbose mode. I've tried using XPF 2.2.1 thru 2.2.4 and even the betas. This must be a system related and not an XPF issue. I hate to do it but I guess I have to do a system software reinstall. Thanks for your help. |

Try zapping PRAM, booting into OS 9, running Disk Warrior, and deleting Extensions.mkext and Extensions.kextcache. |
