Hi Everyone: Correct time is lost whenever I switch between OS9 and OSX and between OSX and OS9. Is this fixable? Thanks! |

I had a similar problem. The clock actually would reset to 2040 or 1956 in OS 9 and not run. Under OS X, it would sync to the apple server and run. I had to manually set it to some reasonable (static) time under OS 9 so that some touchy software which would check the time, wouldn't mind. This problem started with a troublesome XLR8 G4 card (in my 7500) that I returned. It persisted when I put back my G3/carrier ZIF, and fixed itself when I installed the Sonnet G4/800 and 10.2 about at the same time. I didn't notice exactly which one caused the fix. |

Which version of OSX are you running I had the same problem with the early versions like 10 and 10.1. I thought it was the battery and replaced it with a fresh one but with no change but once I got into the higher numbers of OSX like 10.3 and 10.5 the problem went away. Hope that helps Jim |

Are the machines set to automatically update time through a server? Perhaps check those settings for daylight savings, etc. Other than that ..... don't know. |

Thanks, lei1..... But I have three machines with the same problem, so I am thinking there must be something else going on besides the battery. G |

Try replacing the PRAM battery in your mac. |
