8500, 400 Mhz Powerlogix G4, 256Meg ram, UltraTeck 66 ATA card with V 2.2.4, IBM-DTLA 307045 60 Gig drive on Channel 0 with OS 9.1 installed, Maxtor 6L040J2 40 Gig on channel 1. I formatted the Maxtor as one partition, Mac extended to install the OSX onto. Ran SPostFacto 2.2.4, selected the internal SCSI CD rom as the boot disk with OSX installer in the drive, and the Maxtor 40 Gig as the destination OSX drive. XPostFacto copied some files to the OSX drive (Maxtor 40 Gig) then restarted. A screen appeared with an large apple on it, then lines of scrip or code, some yellow, some white, then the screen changed to what must have been the normal OSX install screen. Got past the Language, Read Me, License accept and then to the screen to select the destination drive. This is as far as I can go. The window is grayed out and will not allow any of the displayed drives (all the drives on the computer are listed in the window) to be selected as the destination volume. I restarted in OS9.1 and reformatted the OSX drive again and tried to install several times. The same stopping point each time. Anyone have any ideas on how to proceed? Thanks Don |

I agree with jcp171: it is likely that you will need to reformat the drive in two partitions, the very first of which must be entirely within the first 8 Gb of the drive. Thus make it a tad smaller, ie 7.9Gb in size. |

There is an issue with ATA drives. You must make the primary partition <8gb :-) |
