Thanks guys, I'm going to give that a try. I am so happy because I just found a logitech elite keyboard which has the keys for MAC AND PC on it so I can share one USB keyboard now. Best part, it was only $18 at Staples!!! -Yes, I know that was irrelevent :-) Thanks again! Joe |

arombley has a good point there. Have you any other USB devices running under OS9? Depending on how and when you installed OS9 it may not have automatically included the necessary USB extensions. However, the adapter card support 1.4.1 that he mentions is quite old now so you won't get the latest verions of the extensions if you install it on a 9.2 system. I think you may be able to add the latest versions by doing a customised install from the OS9.1 or OS9.2 CD The extensions in question are listed below with the latest version number in brackets, check to see if you already have them in your system :- USB Support (1.5.6) USB Device Extension (1.5.6) USB Software Locator (1.5.6) HID Library (1.5.6) Serial ShimLib (1.5.6) USB Mass Storage Support (2.1.1) USB Mass Storage Extension (no longer needed? I think part of system now) You can always use Tomeviewer to extract them from the OS9.2.2 update by opening the file "Software Installers/System Software/Mac OS 9.2.2/Installation Tome" |

You can extract the essential files from the Mouseware installer using Tomeviewer which is downloadable from www.versiontracker.com. Use Tomeviewer to extract all the components from "Installer Files/MouseWare Files/MouseWare.tome" to a temporary location. Then copy the files to these System Folder locations :- MouseWare -> Control Panels USB MouseWare Extension -> Extensions USB MouseWare Library -> Extensions USB MouseWare Module -> Extensions WebWheel -> Application Support/Logitech Logitech idx -> Help/Logitech MouseWare Help -> Help/Logitech All .jpg and .gif files -> Help/Logitech/MouseWare You'll probably need to create some of the folders first. |

Sorry about the delay in replying - I'm having some problems posting HTML formatted text to the forum at the moment. I'll update you with details about manually installing MouseWare when I've sorted things out. |

I tried booting off a 9.1 cd and running the install and running it in 9.2.2 off the scsi card. Same message. Yes it is in the installer. I wasn't sure if I could just manually install the components. Can you help me with where they all go? Thanks, Joe |

When you say "...but it keeps saying I must have OS 8.6 or above???" do you mean the MouseWare Installer or the MouseWare control panel. If it's the installer then I can give you details of how to extract the components manually. I suspect your patched OS 9.2.2 system may have problems as I've used the Mouseware installer on both normal and patched 9.2.2 systems successfully. You could try asking on the OS9Helper forum for further details. |

If you have a 9.1 drive perhaps you can install it there and drag the pieces over to your 9.2.2 System. Ed |
