My OS X 10.2.3 has vanished! yes i had it on the second partition of my 36 gig LVD SCSI drive. first partition has 9.1 which is ok but OS partition just disappeared. I have a separate drive with OS X 10.2.3 which is working fine. the other one that vanished worked fine until it got lost. OS built in utility doesn't even see it (the partition), norton does though but as a unformatted partition. what is a good utility software for 9 and OS X? my freind has Drive 10 from micromat, should i try that? my config: PTP w/ Newer Tech G4 400 w/ 800 meg ram, three internal scsi LVD drives plugged to an Adaptec 29160 PCI card. Help.....:-( GAbby |

Hi Guys, I used Drive 10 from Micromat, it took a little while but it fixed the problem, yippe:-) but the thing is that u cannot boot from this utility disc so i booted to OX 10.2.3 (independant drive) and used the CD from there to fix the bad OS X 10.2.3 (partitioned) drive. Norton is fine for optimizing drives though. thanks. Gabby |

Don't use Norton. I have heard nothing but bad things about any version of Norton. Disk Warrior is your best bet. They are going to be shipping an OS X version by the end of February but the current version works fine as long as you could boot into 9. |

Try Disk Warrior. I have had issues like this in the past. Just boot up from Disk Warrior (which is OS 9 boot disk) and Rebuild the file directory for each partition (yes, even the OS 10 partition since it uses HFS Extended file format aswell same as OS 9. |
