StartUp Disk 9.2.4 Problems Can't return to OSX |

After successfully loading OSX.2.3 and using it for awhile I decided to try out the StartUp Disk function and return to System 9.1. After rebooting and using 9.1 for awhile I decided to select OSX as the startup disk again. It will not reload at all. Several times it reverted back to 9.1 and other times it gave me a circle with a line thru it where the grey Apple should appear when I disconnected my hard- drive where 9.1 resides. My only solution to this is initializing the OSX harddrive and reloading it. Is anyone having similar problems? I'm running a 7500 with a 500Mhz Sonnet G3 with 416M of Ram, a Tempo Card and a Tango Card. As I say it all worked well with the software provided by OWC but using StartUp Disk while in System 9.1 is a no return situation. |

Marty, Thanks. That clears up a lot and it's working. When in 9.1 use Xpostfacto to return to OSX. When in OSX use the OSX Startup disk in the preferences to return to 9.1. |

Are you using Xpostfacto to reselect the OSX boot drive? If so you could try the option which reinstalls the extensions... You cannot use the regular OS9 Startup Disk control panel to boot from an XPF volume you NEED to use Xpostfacto (or certain other system disk uils). Marty |
