I've got a Ratoc USB/Firewire PCI card and an original Radeon PCI card in my 7500-G4 (544 Mb RAM). I've been running OS X 10.2 for about a week now and everything works pretty peachy EXCEPT the Firewire part of the card. I plug in an MCE Transport Pro Firewire disk, it mounts, I can see the files, but when I try and transfer files to the OS X partition, it hangs after about 1 Mb gets transferred. Are there preferred slots for the video and Ratoc cards? Or should I immediately update to 10.2.3? Any other suggestions? The card works great with OS 9.1 and even with OS 8.6. |

What slot is the Ratoc currently in? I have a Ratoc Firewire/USB2.0 card in my Power Tower Pro w/Sonnet G4 800, 1GB RAM. I found that the card did not function properly in slot 5. It works perfectly in the 1st three PCI slots and slot 4. I have not tried it in slot 6. If you don't have a SCSI or ATA card in slot 1 or 2 I'd try it in one of those. Slot 1 would give it the best performance. |
