I've noticed that every time that I burn a data CD under X (10.2.3 & 10.2.4), the cd burns successfully but toast hangs as it comes to the dialog asking if I want to verify the burn. I then have to force quit. I'm using a 7500, orange micro usb/firewire and a clubmac cdrw (pre oxford 911) Any thoughts? |

Chibi, maybe you should try installing the 10.2.4 Combo updater. Are you still wrestling with the Trio card or did you fall back to separate cards for ATA, USB, and Firewire? I installed the 5.2.1 update a few days ago but have not tried to burn anything yet with the new Toast app. |

drc You hit the nail on the head.... guess I had just never used toast and had sound working at the same time. Hopefully 10.2.5 will fix sound. |

At least you guys can run Toast 5.2. I installed it (goddamnit, why can't they make a REAL OS X installer, instead of that blasted "requires classic to install" crap?). Unfortunately, I get this: Toast Toast CarbonLib Error (encased in greater than/less than symbols). Any reasons why 10.2.x and Toast 5.2.x refuse to run in OS X, but run fine in OS 9/Classic? - Chibi Delenn |

I was getting buffer underrun errors on DVD-RW's until I installed the 5.2 update. |

I began to have the the same problem after I upgraded to 10.2.4 and I began to lose sound. When the sound is working & the end of disk chime is audible verify (or eject) works fine. I've noticed the same kind of problems with some games: when they are unable to produce sound the app locks up and all I get is the spinning beach ball. |

I've had no problems, after I updated Toast to 5.2, also on a 7500 under 10.2.3 |

I have tried removing the preferences.... didn't fix the problem. I've since noticed that iTunes locks up at the end of ripping a track from a CD. Thinking it had something to do with my burner, I imported a song with toast as an aif and tried converting it to mp3 in iTunes... same reult. After force quitting and restarting, the newly ripped track is gone. I hope I"m not going to have to boot to 9 every time I want to add a CD to my iPod. :-( |

Try removing the file "com.roxio.Toast.plist" from your preferences folder. I have had prefs damaged during updates although Toast was not one of them. The prefs folder is located in your home library. |

I have recently noticed the same but only since 10.2.4. I have both a SCSI 8X burner and a borrowed 40X Firewire (LaCie) |
