Under X.2.4 none of my USB devices show up......logitech mouse, SanDisk card reader and Epson 1160 printer all work, though. I cannot get my Epson 1240 U to be recognized, either via Epson twain for X(via Photoshop7) or trying with VueScan....VueScan dialogue suggests I check System Profiler for scanner.....any ideas? |

I guess nickis_que would know more about this, but he doesn't seem to be responding. I installed the link you mention, and also the following file from that download area: USBSDK1.8.7.dmg Maybe I just got lucky, not knowing what I was doing, but an application called "USB Prober" was installed by one or the other of these 2 downloads and I can retrieve and open it via find file. It does recognize all of the devices (4) on my Sonnet Tango and a powered USB hub. All four of my USB1 devices are recognized and 3 function(printer, card readfer and mouse). I'm still working on getting the Epson 1240U scanner functional on Classic and X.2.4... Good luck, wish I knew more....I don't have a USB2 card, though.... |

This may not have anything to do with this but I downloaded http://developer.apple.com/hardware/usb/downloadsdk198.htm to see if I could see what was on the USB chain and now have no communication with my USB 2 card and the HP printer attached to it. I have reinstalled the USB 2 card driver and the HP driver no luck .... any idea's? |

Could this be what I'm looking for? I'm a novice and afraid to run something designed for developers unless I'm sure I have what I'm looking for..... http://developer.apple.com/hardware/usb/downloadsdk198.htm |

Thanks, nickis_que, How does one download the Apple Developer tools? I did a search on apple.com support/downloads and didn't come up with anything........ |

Williamrah, I have installed OSX on 2 unsupported machines and both do not see any of the USB devices in system proflier. If you download the Apple Developer tools you will find a application called "USB Prober" this will correctly inform you of everything on your USB chain. Nickis_que |
