PM 7500/132 256 MB RAM Internal 500 MB, external 4 GB external drive with term power enabled & active term enabled CD-ROM stock apple Currently trying Darwin 6.02, but fails same way with OS X Public Beta. Does the reboot during instation, shows the grey screen with the dark gray apple, then switches to black screen with white cursor looking rectangle in upper left corner. That is it. I've tested different combinations of RAM chips and have set them up in non-interleaving positions. Any suggestions? |

I just read Ryan's log to see he is looking into this exact behavior on 604s with OS X.2. Come to think of it, Darwin 6.02 corresponds to Jaguar, so it isn't expected to work with XPostFacto 2.x. Now if I could just find my X.1 CD... |

Hold down the command key and S when? I've tried a few different time points and I get no different behavior. |

Public Beta? That's old... I saw the white rectangle you describe trying to boot a 17" iMac G4 from a 10.1.4 system disk(ibook in target disk mode)... Holding down command and S might give you some additional message. I've never tried a Darwin setup. I would try a 10.1.3 disk or 10.1. Marty |
