Why do hardware drivers in OS9 not work in classic mode? I have a Colortron2 adb colormeasuring device which is not recognised bij the ColorShop software. The software however works fine in classic. |

If I understand correctly there is not much if any direct connection to hardware in classic it (again my impression not necessarily correct) is like the "Classic" mode runs as an emulator inside X. Depending on the type of connection there may be X drivers for your hardware you may have to seek out these drivers and possibly something like a abd to USB adapter if there is such a thing. Of course this is a blatent attempt by Apple to force us to purchase new hardware but preventing or atleast delaying that is what this little community is all about. I would also check the site for the software/ hardware in question they may have a workaround. |
