Which U2W scsi card is able to function in 9 and in X without the need of flashing the cards rom every time. The internal scsi bus of the 9600 functions with both systems but with a ATTO PCI Pro and a Initio MilesU2W it's or/or. If I need to startup with 9 I have a system on the internal scsi bus. When 9 is running I must flash the pci scsi card and restart again to see the harddiscs attached to this card. In order to go back to X I must flash the card again and then restart with XPF. This is not very practical. |

The Acard AEC67160M works flawlessly in 8, 9 or X without any flashing, muss or fuss. I highly recommend it. |

I have both Initio & ATTO SCSI cards. I've left the Initio in the 7600 runing 9.1 as it either works with 9 or X, not both. I've got 2 ATTO UL2D cards which work fine in either OS as well as my two ATTO Express single channel cards. The Advansys cards are supposed to go either way, but I've had such good luck with the ATTO cards, I'm reluctant to switch. Hope this helps. --Dwight |

I use Adaptec 29160 LVD SCSI card, at first it was shaky under OS X, then I updated the flash rom and now it work great. Check out Ebay, u may find something good. ATA cards I don't know specially if u r doing video, even photoshop is a little faster with this Adaptec card. SCSI i think still is a little more stable and faster. |

Sorry that this forum wouldn't take the URL without being messy. I assume I should be able to edit my own post? but if you copy/paste, should work, too. |

Time to consider going ATA; or look at just using a good SCSI drive and adapter to use the internal SCSI perhaps. ATTO UL3S is one possible option.
