When I attempt to install OSX 10.2 with XPF 2.2.5, and my internal SCSI chain connected to the internal SCSI port on the motherboard, I receive this error upon reboot: can't OPEN: scsi-int/@0:6 If I connect the SCSI chain to my external connector on the motherboard, there are no issues. There are only 2 devices on my SCSI chain, the hard drive (device 0, terminated), and the stock CD-ROM (device 3, unterminated). My system is a former 9600/200MP, now with a Sonnet G4/800. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dennis |

I sure wish this could work for me. Unfortunately I have a Sonnet Tempo Trio, with a WD 200 GB SE HD connected to it. OS X refuses to boot off that HD, giving me the same message (only it's @1:9 instead). Sonnet's supposed "fix" (firmware update 4.5 for >137 GB HDs) doesn't address this apparently. Yay. There HAS to be a way to have my cake and eat it too. The 200 GB HD is far faster than even the Seagate 40 GB HD I use to boot OS X off of now. |

There are a couple of things you might try. Sometimes adjusting the "Disable Unit Attention" jumper on the drive helps (this is a physical jumper on the hard drive). Especially if you have one of the IBM Ultrastars. Also, adjusting the "throttle" setting in XPostFacto sometimes helps--you could try a higher setting (which slows down the boot process, but sometimes solves this problem). |
