I`m planning to renew my hard disk and make clear assembly of 10.2. What are you Gurus recommend for partition, drive is Maxtor scsi 36 gig. How big classic volume, what about separate swap partition, is there any need for that in OsX? I have several Oldworld Macs using X thanks for Ryan`s Xpostfacto and they are working great. Except my daughter`s PTP G3/400 needs work with external scsi, in internal scsi X boot blaims- can`t open scsi int 0:6, i`ve tried everything... 73 de Oh6mmq (Ham callsign) |

Hi! Thanks for your reply. I will download that utility and try that . That Ptp has been quite tricky all the time. I think i´ll try that swap trick too.. Greetings Matti |

about your daughters computer, have you tried to Use the Apple Software Restore program to "recover" the OSX disc to another Hard drive/partition. sometimes the clones come with non-CD-booting drives so you have to use this little work around to boot from a hard drive and install the software. about the swap file, i have tried to move it but i did not notice any huge proformance increace so unless space is an issue i would see no reason. If you get your daughters computer up using Apple System Resore and you can't find anything better to do with the extra 700mb partition that is left over you could try turning that into the swap file disc. |
