I am trying to reinstall OSX on my 8500 with XPostFacto because I just boosted the CPU to 300 MHz with XLR8. Following a suggestion from another list, I selected single user mode under Advanced in the menu of XPF. On restart, I saw all code which stopped with a cursor. I typed in fsck -y and watched it OK my CD and the disk I was loading it to. The sequence said disk is OK with another cursor. Then I typed "exit" or "logout" and the startup was supposed to continue. " message Anyone have a solution? thnx |

don't select single usermode. Error 0 for me has always been either a bad install CD, or a bad CDROM Drive.... Marty |

On B&W and earlier Apple KB recommends reboot. Not exit. |
