Incorrect speed displayed in "About This Mac" |

I just reinstalled 10.2 (and updated to 10.2.6) on my 2nd hard drive because I was having some problems with the installation on my primary drive. Now, when I boot to the second drive both "About This Mac" and System Profiler state my processor running at 133 MHz. When I boot to my primary partition (also 10.2.6) I get the correct rating at 500 MHz. My computer is a Beige G3 with an XLR8 G4/500. All I have done on my 2nd partition was install 10.2, update to 10.2.6 using the combo updater, get updates using Software Update, and then install Powerlogix Cache Control 2.1b4. I never noted the stated speed until I opend Cache Control. I have since uninstalled Cache Control incase it was the cause of the misstatement of speed, but "About This Mac" still says my processor is a "133 MHz PowerPC G4". The computer does indeed seem to be running at 500 MHz versus 133, and don't see any great harm in the misstatement of speed, but I would like to correct it. Anybody have any ideas before I do a reformat and reinstall on my 2nd partition? Thanks! |

You can try other cache enablers, like powerlogix CPU director. |
