Startup video output Power Center Pro and OS X |

Sorry for a second post, but I have another question unrelated to my sound issue I have a Power Center Pro 210, Crescendo G4 700 upgrade card and OS X 10.2.6 on it. I am using a Radeon 7000 for video but the machine also has on board video. Its not that big a deal, but I would like the video output from the startup sequence before OS X starts to be output to the ATI card rather than the on board video. I've tried setting the output device in the open firmware via the XPF control panel but that doesn't seem to work (I think that sets an output environment variable in Open Firmware, but OS X 10.2.6 seems to ignore that). Are there any Open Firmware hacks I can use to do this? Jeff |

I think if you have a monitor plugged into both onboard video and the Radeon 7000 then the output will go to the onboard video (if it's called "control") no matter what the setting is in XPostFacto. I have a patch that may fix that. E-mail me at joevt@shaw.ca if you want me to send that to you. It also allows the Radeon or Radeon 7000 to boot in higher resolutions than 640x480 on Old World Macs in both OS X and OS 9. |
