First, I appologise if this is a repeat of earlier threads, but it's not obvious how to search. I would like to upgrade this machine to OS X at some point. Its clear this is being worked, but not it's not clear if having the Crescendo/L2 G3 makes this easier or more likely, or if a manual install of OS X might be successful in lieu of an install script? For the record, the RAM is maxed out, there's USB and ATI Rage PCI cards, and an Apple Ethernet Comm Slot II card installed. I want it to boot from the ATA hard disk if possible. Many thanks, mailto:fearlesfil@aol.com |

It's something I've been working on, but Panther's at the top of the list at the moment. Once Panther is working, I'll get back to the additional machine support. In theory, it ought to be possible to make your setup work, but I don't now how long it will take to figure things out. |

As far as I know, G3 upgrades on a 603 machines are still a no go. I brought up some threads about this form the past, you can have a look on them. |

That makes some sense. What if I removed the L2 CPU, accomplished the install, then added drivers later? Are there OSX drivers for these cards? Thanks, fearlesf |

I don't think that L2 processor cards are currently supported by XPostFacto. This is due to the fact that the machine boots on the built-in 603e chip until the Sonnet extension enables the card. Don't know if future revisions of XPostFacto will address this problem or if it is even possible to do so. |
