Wondering if anyone out there knows which file I need to extract for the PowerDomain flash utility to convert a PC 29160N card to a MAC. All I know is that the file is 128K, and the PC version is 68k I plan on trying to convert the card in a pc using the dos flasher and boot disk, so all I need to find is the proper bios update file, not sure where to look. Thanks. |

The RMDT resource is specific to ATI ROM flashers (unless different companies are sharing the same flasher code base). However, it should be easy enough to find the ROM image that you want. There are a few docs on the net that describe the contents of a PCI ROM image. The first two bytes will be 55AA. There should also be 4 bytes at least 26 bytes later that hold the PCI Data Structure Header signature string which is "PCIR". |

I have flashed three 2940UW's over from the darkside, but that was just a matter of running the power domain ROM updater, This one is just a tougher nut to crak, I think...... |

Some time ago, I asked Adaptec if the Mac card could be used in a PC (I have a marginal Mac card that only works under X - go figure). Their comment was that the HW was different at a fundamental level. of course the video card makers say the same thing... stephen |

Oh yes, I checked the eproms, and looks like they can handle the larger mac file (marked with "010"). I will look the RMDT resource as mentioned in another thread, concerning a radeon card, but this adaptec card is new turf for me......thanks for any info! |
