Hi Gang looking for a little assistance- I'm running a PM G3 Biege 400mhz 576 Ram have installed OSX and upgraded to 10.2.6 all running on SCSI Drive no problems untill I decided to use Norton Utilities to optimize the drive. OOOPS BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!! Now OSX wont boot- I get the following message in open firmware- Default catch- code=fff000700 at %SRR0:01c00cc0 %SRR1:00083070 Now I have replaced pram battery- pressed the reset button on the motherboard- Gone into Open firm and entered nit-nvram set-defaults reset-all AND STILL NO CHANGE!!!! I even ran Disk warrior but still the bloody thing only boots in OS9.2 HELP!!!! I MIS MY OSX !!!!! |

Oh, well. I already did the same mistake myself once, and I ended up re-installing OS X. Did you try to boot from CD and re-applying the 10.2.6 update in your OSX drive? Or maybe repairing permissions within Disk utility from CD? Just a wild guess. |

Thanks- It worked but now OSX wont let me in- It goes to the log in screen which it never did before and it wont let me in. I did set a password but I think it got screwed up or something. So I tried resetting it from the 10.2 Install CD I go through all the motions it says it has been reset but when I get the password screen it wont accept the new password!!! ?????????? Now I'm really confused! Am I doing something Wrong- I do know that I am chnging the password for the correct setting- i.e. my name and the administrator- Is there a way around this screen? |

Did you try the reinstall extensions and bootX options in XPostFacto? |
