I see today that the firmtek Serial ATA card is shipping. Looks like $70.00 and it SHOULD work with our old mac (I think). http://www.firmtek.com/seritek/ Anyone who get one please let us all know, as I have already overspent on the Powerlogix G3/900... Marty |

These two cards are most likely the same item, since historically Firmtek has down the mac firmware for Acard... I don't think The PCI bus is too big a bottleneck in single drive setups, but yes for massive raids it's an issue. Marty |

I'd love that just for the hardware RAID. Mmmm....dual WD 200 GB SE HDs Too bad PCI in all but the latest macs is a bottleneck for SATA... - Chibi Delennâ„¢ |

I didn't try any SATA card for the Mac yet, but I found that ACARD has also released a SATA PCI card fot the Mac, supports OS 8.6 & up and hardware RAID. http://www.acard.com/eng/product/adapter/mac/serial/aec-6890.html |
