Not a bootable partition? |

I just purchased this 18.3 Gb Quantum Atlas harddrive from OWC: http:// eshop.macsales.com/Catalog_Item.cfm?ID=4721&Item=OWCMAX183AVN But when I try to install OS X onto it in my 8600 I get the error "no HFS bootable partition found" after xpostfacto reboots. The scsi termination is correct. I even tried reformatting the disk with FWB Hard Disk Toolkit and got the same thing. Is it because the drive has been converted from SCA to 50pin SCSI? What can I do? |

You're sure it is terminated, so next step is to try Drive Setup 2.07 (and not 2.03, you need the 9.2.1/9.2.2 or TombViewer). I wouldn't use FWB, even HDT 4.5.2 isn't OS X compliant partition table. HDST 3.5 would be another choice. Is the drive on the native SCSI bus (FastSCSI 10MB/s? or controller card?) Check out the prices and options for SCSI on www.hypermicro.com also. |
