Got Panther - no Wallstreet support, here I am... |

I got my Panther box from Apple today. Installed flawlessly on my dual 800 QS G4, then I tried to install on my Wallstreet...oops. A brief Googling later and here I am, registered and eagerly awaiting an update to XPF that will let me load 10.3 on this machine. 10.2 has been very solid, except for some quirks with hardware - an Orinoco WiFi card, expansion bay hard drives and CD-ROM drive are much more touchy about when you install/remove them than under OS9.2.2, with kernel panics a fairly common result if I swap devices carelessly. I have a Sonnet 500MHz G4 and 512MB RAM in this machine, had no problem installing Jaguar. Let's hope Ryan encounters no major obstacles to supporting these PowerBooks in Panther...I already really like some of the new Finder features after just a couple of hours playing with it on my G4, and definitely feels more responsive on that machine - but who knows if that will translate to the relatively wimpy graphics card on the Wallstreet.
