xfacto kills |

To anyone who can help I am running a UMAX S900 with a Newer 400/G4. I had previously installed Xfacto (some months ago) and all worked if very slowly. I have since been using 9.1 almost exclusively and today decided to try xfacto (10.1.?) again. This system is installed on its own partition along with its own 9.1. I started from the 9.1 and then used the startup control panel to launch 10.1 (couldn't remember if this was right). I got chimes and then nothing. The computer will no longer start up from any source (CD, other drive) in fact it won't even progress far enough for a PRAM zap. There is NO output to the monitor. I tried going back to a 604 card but no luck. Does anyone have a solution or an idea about what I could try next? I was always under the impression that software couldn't do any permanent damage. Foolish of me? Paul Muir |
