I could not figure out how to shut down Mac after upgrade to 10.2; each time the computer restarts by itself when the hard drives stop spinning. Am I the only one has this problem? |

Interesting--I haven't heard of that one before. (And I'm not seeing an 'Advanced' tab in the Energy Saver pref). One thing you could try is booting in verbose mode (hold down command-v at startup). Then, when you shut down, you should see some console messages on the screen at the end. They may provide a clue. Come to think of it, there may already be clues in your system log (located at: /var/log/system.log ). |

this is only a wild guess, but there is a checkbox in the Advanced tab of the Energy Saver pref panel that tells the computer to restart automatically after a power failure. could this be restarting the computer even in the case of an intentional shutdown? |
