Check out this thread over on ArsTechnica. If you have either an orginal Radeon or Radeon 7000 and are willing to try it let me know what your impressions are. I don't have a supported video card so I can't test it myself. Britney |

For me, the compositing helps out a ton, no matter what tasks I do. The benchmarks that people are relying on are not real world. The tasks I do all the time are helped out tremendously with this hack. System: 9600/300 w/XLR8 G4/450 Radeon Mac Edition (original) 29160N U160 Card 768MB RAM |

There's now a utility listed over at versiontracker called PCI Extreme on the OS X page that performs this hack for you. I havn't tried it 'cause I don't have jaguar, but the reviews seem positive for it. |

I did it and got substancial performance increase. Quartz Extreme Check reports my display accelerated. |

Wow, this is interesting. Thanks for the link. I've got a Radeon 7000 and was disappointed that Jaguar wouldn't support it. Looks like I at least have a shot at it now. Just waiting on Jaguar to arrive... Tony |
