Hi there, Got a problem install 10.1 Server. I'll first explain what I've done so far. Got a PM7500/128MB/180Mhz/ Seagate Barracuda 9.1 SCSI - 2 partitions - 3GIG & 6GIG (also have 2 more SCSI HD's; 1GIG with OS9.1 and 4 GIG which as nothing on it). (also note, Apple standard CD-ROM etc.) I've sucessfully used XPOSTFACTO to install OSX10.1.5 on the first (3 GIG) partition and OSX works a treat. No problems there. However, trying to install 10.1 Server (haven't tried 10.1 desktop or anything, so that might be worth trying, I suppose) on to the 2nd (6GIG) partition and when the 7500 reboots (after getting the grey apple logo) I get a black screen with the following error message: /etc/master.passwd: Not a directory Would be very greatful for any advise. many thanks Rob |

It's a problem with your install CD. The /etc file is a symbolic link, and if the CD is copied incorrectly, it loses some file flags. You'll need to use a different CD. |
