Trying to install 10.2 from scratch. Running a 7600 with a G3 upgrade from XLR8. The Boot process into the installer works fine but after proceeding through the first few steps it presents the choice of drives and will not let me install on any of my drives - saying that there isn't an existing installation of OS X. You can do a clean install of 10.2 right? (It is the retail version) I will try to 10.0 disks tomorrow but I left them alll at home. |

Does it show any message regarding not being able to load within the "first 8 GB" on the disk? (It won't on my main drive supposedly because of this, thus I'm supposed to completely erase the drive). I assume the disks are all HFS extended forma |

That is odd--I have done clean installs of 10.2 with my set of disks. It certainly sounds as though your install disks think they are "upgrade only" disks, but I would not have thought 10.2 should be like that--certainly not the retail version. |
