Hello All, I've seen a number of PTP situations here where the machine reboots to 9, but from the sound of these they have X installed somehow. My machine doesn't even get that far. XPF 2.2.2 copies the requisite data onto my target drive, but when it reboots it goes directly to the most recently booted version of 9 whereas the XPF instructions lead me to expect it to boot from the Mac OS X CD. Details: PTP225 with a PowerForce G3 card (500MHz); two 2GB Quantum (I think) drives (shipped with the machine), one 18GB Fujitsu drive (Mac OS X target) and one 18GB Barracuda drive; 1GB RAM; one Entrega USB card; IMS TwinTurbo 128/8MB video card. One of the Quantums has 9.1, the other has 9.2.2. Any ideas? Raj |

Try switching your CD-ROM drive and your target installation disk to the external SCSI bus connector on your logic board. It will be to the left of the one labled FAST. Some logic board variations exhibit this behavior for some reason. I experienced install problems the first time I tried until I switched to the external bus. |
