Just installed OS X on my 6400 system, actually, a Powerbase 200 Clone (better then a 6400). OS X boots fine, desktop comes, system works. However, the system will NOT save any changes I make to the dock, and or finder. Next, all the applications, System Preferences, IE Explorer, etc, WON'T WORK. They don't do anything when I click on them, and all their icons look like "folders", and there doesn't seem to be any executables that I can execute without OS X asking which application to open it with?? Anyone seen this before? How can I fix it? |

Interesting--I had thought the 6400 wasn't working yet. The "applications look like folders" problem is something that can happen if you gave yourself the name "root" when you created your first user account. Did you happen to do that, by any chance? The problem with the SCSI CD-ROM drive is probably related to the driver / hardware combination--I haven't been able to get the SCSI CD-ROM to work in my 6500 at all yet, so you're better off than I am on that score :-) |

I should also note that my 8x SCSI CDRom drive takes almost 5 minutes to mount.. Can this be fixed? Sometimes it doesn't even mount at all- it just sites there spinning.. |
