9500: Can't find CD-ROM Open Firmware name |

I have successfully installed OS X onto my 9500 but now I'm trying to install it onto a different drive, using the same CD-ROM drive as worked before. When I start up Xpostfacto it says that I cannot install OS X from my 10.2 CD-ROM because the CD-ROM's Open Firmware name could not be found. Can someone offer suggestions? Would zapping the PRAM or pressing the CUDA switch help in this situation? Thanks much, Matthew hayduke@nmt.edu |

I tried again last night and it worked fine; no error message. The problem seems to have gone away. Matthew |

The CD-ROM is the stock Apple CD-ROM drive, and it is connected to the internal bus. I will try to get the log tonight and send it to you. Thanks, Matthew |

What is the CD-ROM drive connected to? Is it on the internal SCSI bus? Probably the best thing to do is to e-mail your XPostFacto Log file to me. I should be able to figure out what the problem is (it is probably a bug in XPostFacto of some kind). |
