I recently installed 10.2 via Xpost onto a 9600 with an XLR8 carrier ZIF w/ a 233 G3 running at 250MHz. I was trying to burn a CD using Toast 5.2 onto a Yahmaha CRW2100EZ that is connected trough an ACARD ATA PCI card, copying files through a PCI Firewire card and crashed Jaguar, and even had to re-install it before it would re-boot. OK, I know, this 9600 has almost every type of upgrade that could cause issues, and I haven't even mentioned yet the XCLAIM VR Rage Pro and the MacAlly USB card. (I called it Count Macula, made from parts from all over, and even the 9600 itself was recused from a dumpster.) First of all, thanks Ryan for your hard work that makes Jaguar possible on this machine! Second, Any known issues with Toast or these cards? The XCLAIM VR seemed to be no problem. The firewire seems a bit flaky at times, sometimes I have to turn the drive on and off to get it mount, but seems to work fine if it does. |

No problems here with Toast 5.2. It burns with my internal Toshiba DVD/CD-RW, and an external LG 8120B Firewire CD-RW, as well as an OWC Pioneer DVD-R Firewire drive. |

I have a SCSI8824 Yamaha, Using 10.2 and Toast 5.2 I have no problems with the burner. Until I installed 10.2 and Toast I could not even get the system find the burner. Now it works with the finder, Itunes and Toast. I think 5.2 played a role in getting the burner findable |

Well, I know Toast 5.2 works, at least with my SCSI 8x Yamaha. The firewire is a little trippy with my drive, requiring me to unplug and re-plug the firewire cable after rebooting while the drive is asleep. (This one is a replacement, and seems to operate much better, since the first one lacked auto-park and it appeared to have suffered a real, live, disc crash because of it) |

Are you able to copy large files from the Firewire drive successfully? There are cases in which this has been problematic for some people. In some cases, reformatting the firewire drive has helped. |
