New Sonnett upgrade card finally arrived. Now, XPF 2.2.4 stalls "copying mach-kernel". Dead in the water. 7600, SIIG ata 133, Sonnett 500/G3. I have had several successful installs in the past with PowerLogix card, this does not get far enough for a kernel attack. Getting desperate. There's work to be done. |

Aftre many frustrating parts swap outs, I found that I had two devices auto-terminating on the SCSI chain. Rechecking all of the jumpers and only having the last device auto-termed did the trick. hope this helps ken |

I've had this same problem and have gotten by it...Ive got a 8500/132 with the apple 600i cdrom...i think the problem lies with the cdrom and its drivers..what worked for me was to use older apple cdrom driver extension and then to restart without leaving the cd in the drive...actually take it out and put it back in when you are in the os..worked for me..i froze at the mach-kernel cause thats the first file its trying to snag off the cdrom..change the driver..take cd out put back in then go..hopefully it works for you to.. |

This is happening to me also on a stock 8500/132 with XPF 2.2.4. What gives? |

That's an odd place for it to stop. You don't happen to have a copy of CodeWarrior handy to run it under the debugger, by any chance? Does it just stall, or does it freeze the whole machine? I assume you have to force-quit XPostFacto at this point--does that leave other things working? |
