Install Jag on Gchip, run Jag on 604e |

I have a 9600 that now has a PowerLogix G3 400 processor in it now and I got 10.2 on it (XPF is great!). I also have a Umax S900 (9600 clone) that has a 604e 233 processor in it. Can I swap out the G3 processor from the 9600 to do the Jag install and then toss back in the 604e processor to run Jaguar that way? I also have a PCC PB lowprofile (equiv to 6400) that i would like to temporarily toss the G3 proc. into for the same effect. That computer will get the 200mhz 604e from the umax and the Umax will get the 233mhz card from the 9600. Trickle down processors ;-) I know that the Jag installer via XPF needs to see a G3,4 card as a processor to do the install, but what if I try to run Jag on a 604e chip AFTER the install? Must i settle for 10.1.5 on my others.... ? Hope not. I am in no condition to upgrade/buy new processors. I am dead broke and saving for a Motorcycle tour in Costa Rica ---- can't wait! Help ;-) |

The restriction in Jaguar re the 603 and 604 processors is in the kernel, not the installer. You'll have to wait for Ryan to come up with the necessary fixes before it will work . |
