I just flashed my Sonnet Tempo ATA100 with Firmware 2.3.9 (dowloaded through versiontracker.com), and my PowerMac 7600 with MaxPowr 300 G3, booted MacOS X 10.1.5 just fine! I did not boot at all with firmware 2.3.4. Maybe now I can try to upgrade to 10.2! By the way, I am using XPostFacto 2.2.4 kernel extensions. |

One of the symptoms of problems with the previous firmware version for the ATA/100 card was that it would detect a 66 MHz PCI bus instead of 33 MHz. But the message in verbose mode did not mention 33 MHz then, just 66. So I'm not sure whether it is still the same problem for you, or something different. You might have some luck following up with Sonnet--they've been fairly responsive on these issues. |

I have a 8500 with XLR8 G3/360, close to 1 gig of RAM, and a Sonnet ATA100 running this latest firmware. I cannot get to the installer for 10.2; I get the verbose mode, messages about 33 MHz and 66 MHz bus, and eventually get asked to press r for reboot or c for continue (neither of which do anything). I had previously been running 10.1.5 just fine. I am trying a whole bunch of XPF versions, including the latest. Any advice? |
