Folks, I am going to give this software a try this weekend. I have a PM 7300 with 384M Ram, On-board Video, Belken USB PCI Card, and a Sonnet G4-400 upgrade card. The HD is an 18 Gig with currently only the one partition of HFS+. I habve xpofacto 2.2.4 downloaded, a new Os X 10.2 disc and the time to try this this weekend. So after reading the suppled info.......What should I watch out for? I really want to see this machine on OS X. Looks like I may lose my job, so I'm not going to have the monies to upgrade computer anytime soon. Chris |

mjoecups358, Which PCI card are you using. I have the MacAlly Firewire/USB card. I'm able to control the camera but when I try to import or export the appication is unable to import or export and sometimes it freezes (iMovie). As soon as I disconnect the camera the application "comes back to life"! I have an 80 GB LaCie Firewire drive that works perfectly and the camera works as expected on my FP iMac. I thought the bus could not handle the DV traffic. Do I have a defective card? |

I picked up an Apple 24x CD from OWC that I use in my 7300 that hasn't even hiccuped. |

I used an upgraded 7500/G3 400 with firewire with Final cut pro and a sony DX-1000 (I think that was the model) with perfect success. I wouldn't rule out using Firewire and a DV cam on your machine. Enabling the G4 cards cache is a little tricky, but is necessary to get useable speed... |

I have a PM7300 with the Sonnet G4 400 MHz, the original apple drive plus an internal 18 GB SCSI from LaCie. I also have a MacAlly USB/Firewire card and external SCSI zip, Jaz, LaCie 4 GB external drive, and LaCie CD-RW drive. Everything works. I did have trouble with the CD burner but it was a SCSI termination issue. Also when I first got my 18 GB drive I could not install OS X on it. I think I reformatted it with the latest Lacie utilities and it's better now :-) As for connecting a camera to the Firewire port - forget it! Apparently the bus is too slow. My Firewire drives and USB card reader work fine. Hopes this gives you courage :) Good luck |

Sometimes problems have to do with how your hard drive is formatted and also termination issue. I have found the best thing is to format it at least in two partitions - one for OS 9.1 and the other for whatever flavor of OS 10. The drive must be formatted in OS 9 with the apple drive utility or Intech's drive utility, others like Silverlining, etc do not work reliably. Once have a good stable OS 9 then try to install OS 10 to other partition. Good Luck. |

Someone HELP! I can only get so far and this thing hangs on the start up. Thought it was the 600I Apple Drive, picked up a 12x Apple Drive and I can't get ANYWHERE with that. The 12 X drive wont even copy anything to the other drive for OSx. I want this to work SO BAD. Does anyone read this? Chris |

Looks like my replacement CD-Rom won't allow things to bott up. I'm going to try and copy the two 10.2 CD-s to the hard drive and then try and boot off of them. I saw someone today did this and it worked. Wish me luck! Chris |
