I'm wondering if a third-party internal SCSI CD-RW will work in my 8500 running 10.1.5. Anyone had any experience with this? The one I'm thinking of getting is a Hewlett Packard 9600SI SCSI 12x8x32 Mac Bootable CD-RW Internal (OWC part# HPCC4506). It's been tested with 9.1, but I don't want to have to boot into 9.1 every time I want to burn a disc. Thanks in advance, Kevin |

Will the Hewlett Packard 9600SI SCSI 12x8x32, Plextor PX-W1210TS, or Yamaha 2100S fit into the 8500 case? Does anyone know if the CD tray fit the front bezel trim on an 8500? |

I've been using a Plextor PX-W1210TS (cheap at dirtcheapdrives.com) for about a year. 12/10/32s internal scsi used it in OS X 10 through 10.2.1 works in toast, think it needed some hacks from xlr8yourmac.com for iTunes and Finder Burning. I've been Very Pleased with it. SMT |
