Installed the 10.2.2 update on my upgraded 7500 today. The sound problems still remain. (sound is choppy and later dies after alot of disk I/O). Seems that sound doesn't break under heavy use in Classic but will die as soon as I use native OS X apps like iTunes and VirtualPC. I also noticed a DMA error for device Mace (on board ethernet) in /var/log/system.log, something I didn't see with 10.2.1. Otherwise OS X functions as it should. System Config: PM 7500 with Newertech MaxPOWR G4-450Mhz 320MB RAM (2x32, 2x128) ACARD ATA66 controller with a WD 400BB 40GB HD on the primary channel Panasonic (Apple OEM) 24X CD-ROM on the fast SCSI bus. |

I sent my system log files to a friend who is interning with Apple's Quicktime group. He forwarded it to the boss and hopefully they look into the problem. |

I've noticed the same sound issues on my girlfriends PBg3 wallstreet 266. So it's not an Xpostfacto issue in my opinion. Too bad 10.22 didn't get it right. |

I have noticed lousy sound, imports and burns using iTunes in OS 10.2.1. Going to Toast 5.2 seemed to fix the burn problem, if not the sound. I haven't tried MP3 imports, there. I just did the upgrade to 10.2.2, with no problems. I have a 8500/MaxPowrG3-300, an ATI XClaimVR-8M, Adaptec FireConnect 4300, ACARD ATA PCI card, Yamaha CDR-8424S SCSI (which works fine) and about 87 Gigs of HD on the three interfaces. -Jim |
