How to remove XLR8, sonnet cache controls |

Hi I've been meddling around again, I've had the L2 cache installed in my OS X10.2 and learned that the XLR8 cache info is read sooner during the boot process, then I learned that Sonnet loads even sooner, etc. I want to get back to having just one (1) cache controller for OSX. Do I use Find File to locate all the bits and pieces for L2, XLR8, Sonnet and trash them? Then reinstall the cache software? And what cache control would work best with my 9500, sonnet G3/400 card? I've always used the XLR8 control panel and extension for OS 9.1 because it effectively turns-off the motherboard cache (soldered, not removable), whereas Sonnet software will not. This was always an issue for me because with motherboard cache enabled, it would cause instability. Thanks Keith |

XLR8 software quit working after apox OSX 10.1 and the company is gone end of story. Still great for OS 9.1 and older don't know about 9.2-9.22 Powerlogix.com currently has the best software for G3/4 upgrades and OSX IMHO. It lets you turn off the motherboard cache. I have heard that the Sonnet software does this as well if your using a current version. L2 and XLR8 software comes with info on how to remove the software. Only 1 cache software should be on your machine at a time.Sonnet software crashes the machine with XLR8 upgrades so haven't used it. |
