I have an 8500 with 256 meg of ram, a sonnet g3 450 and I installed a 4 gig drive to put os 10 on to mess around with it. From some of the posts I have read, I may have incompatible ram and the system copied copious files onto the drive then shut down and wont start up at all; even from my system disk, or norton . ( I had tried a test run on my 7300, 604, with 160 meg of ram and got as far as a crazy message during install and no harm was done so I felt confident that I could try this). I then removed the second drive and was rewarded with the same results. how do I get the thing to restart? did I conceivably fry the board or the sonnet? the quizzica |

Your sonnet should have come with a Pram restore disk. put that in and see what happens. if nothing hit the pram reset buttons (cmd option pr) and hold for 3 start chimes (right after you force restart). then force restart and use the pram restore disk again. this probably will not solve your problem the first time. for some reason it can take 5-30 of these sets. I don't know why but just don't give up. Good Luck |
