Well, I needed some hard disk space to install Suse Linux 7.3. Of course, you can't make any changes to the partition structure with Apple's Disk Driver. So, I took a chance and used HDT 4.5.2 to take over my 37GB drive from the Apple Driver and I've had no problems at all. This confirms my theory from many months ago that XPF wouldn't boot into a drive formatted with HDT's driver, but would boot if the HDT driver took over the drive after it was formatted by Apple's driver. Everything works fine and I'm hacking away at my partitions to get some space for Linux. |

Just to be sure there is no miscommunication here, you are BOTH talking about "FWB" HDT, right, and not Intech's HDST? I'm sure Tony is refering to FWB HDT, from the version number. HDST works fine. |

Interesting. What version of HDT did you use for formatting? |

I have 37Gb hard drive that Apple's software absolutely refuses to reformat/repartition. I used HDT to format and partition it, and it boots just fine. No takeover here, it was a flat out format/partition. |
