AltiVec Fractal Carbon - Longer bars are better.
A version of the Interactive Fractal Demo, a numerically-intensive parallel graphics application, that uses the Velocity Engine, a.k.a. AltiVec, and multiple processors (MP) for its computations. The dual processor models have an extreme advantage in this test, and that is why it was created - distributed computing load over multiple systems or processors. Just think about a cluster of 8 Power Macintosh systems all linked together to distribute the load over multiple systems / processors. Who needs a Cray Supercomputer anymore?! |
