USB 3.0 Version
FW 800: Any Intel Mac connected via FireWire 800 will boot from the Qx2.
USB 3.0: Any Intel Mac connected via USB 3.0 will boot from the Qx2. PC support will vary by manufacturer and BIOS type.
eSATA: Any SATA based Mac using a built-in SATA connection adapted to an eSATA connection will support booting. Port multiplier enclosures are not supported. Most eSATA expansion cards or host board adapters will not be bootable. Check with your specific card manufacturer regarding Mac boot support.
USB 2.0 Version
FW400 / FW800: Any Intel Mac from 2008 or later, connected via Firewire 400 or 800, will boot from the Qx2. Pre-2008 Macs connected via FireWwire will not boot unless the A-B switch is set to B, due to volume size limitations.
